ACT Healthy Waterways is funding two research projects to help us better understand water quality issues in lakes and urban ponds, including blue-green algal blooms in Lake Tuggeranong. Sampling in the lake and in six urban ponds has commenced and will continue until June 2019.
Identifying in-lake treatments to improve water quality and reduce closures caused by blue-green algae.
Researching how changing the water level in urban ponds affects water quality.
Working with community to raise awareness, educate, monitor, and restore and protect our local waterways.
