ACT and Region Catchment Management Coordination Group

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Region Catchment Management Coordination Group (the Coordination Group) is a statutory advisory group established under the Water Resources Act 2007 to facilitate improved governance and coordination of water catchment activities within the ACT and the surrounding region.

The primary function of the group is to advise the Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reduction on matters relating to water catchment management in the ACT and the Australian capital water catchment region.

The Australian capital water catchment region refers to the catchment area of the Murrumbidgee River upstream of Burrinjuck Dam.

Membership

Members are appointed to the Coordination Group by the Minister for Water, Energy and Emissions Reduction.

The Coordination Group is chaired by Dr Maxine Cooper and includes members from the ACT Government, the National Capital Authority, the New South Wales (NSW) Department of Planning and Environment, the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, the Yass Valley Council, the Snowy-Monaro Regional Council, South-East Local Land Services, and Icon Water.
