That’s a wrap on the 2026 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival!
The 2026 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival was held from 11 April to 10 May celebrating the places, stories and people that shaped our city. The festival theme, ‘Mid-century-innovation, change and optimism’, celebrated Canberra’s unique heritage – a time of bold ideas, creativity and cultural transformation.
Visitors also explored our rich regional connections to Canberra’s heritage with events in Goulburn, Yass, Gunning and Queanbeyan.
The program included close to 150 events coordinated by more than 90 organisations. Events included tours, talks, exhibitions, dances, open days and kids activities that celebrated the rich and enduring natural, First Nations and historic heritage of our region.
A big thank you to our event holders who each year create exciting events to showcase the heritage of our region.
If you attended an event, we’d love to hear from you. Our YourSay survey is open until 22 June, and we always enjoy seeing photos from festival events — feel free to share them with us!
