The Canberra and Region Heritage Festival is back in 2026!
The 2026 Heritage Festival will run from Saturday 11 April to Sunday 10 May. It’s a fun way to learn about the history and culture of Canberra and nearby regions.
The festival is run by ACT Heritage, part of the ACT Government.
This year’s theme is “Mid-Century – innovation, change and optimism.”
It looks at a time when Canberra was growing and changing in exciting ways. You’ll learn about the buildings, ideas and people that helped shape the city.
Even if your event doesn’t match the theme, you can still take part! We welcome all events that explore First Nations, natural, cultural or historic heritage. Groups from nearby towns and regional shires can join too.
