The ACT Waterwatch program is a community engagement initiative managed by the Environment, Planning and Sustainable development Directorate (EPSDD) with funding from the ACT Government and ICON Water.

The aim is to encourage and support the community to take responsibility for improving the quality of water in the catchment.

The Waterwatch program is an environmental education and awareness program that:

• engages the community in the environment through monitoring and caring for our catchments
• educates and raises awareness in schools and the community on issues concerning catchment health
• uses data collected by volunteers to inform policy and on ground catchment management
