Take plants, soil and stone for scientific purposes

It is an offence to take plants or parts of plants including seeds without a licence. It is also an offence to remove soil or stone from a Nature Reserve.

A licence may be issued under Chapter 11 of the Nature Conservation Act 2014 (the Act) authorising the licensee to carry out one or more activities that would otherwise be an offence under the Act.

As part of your licence obligations you must complete the ACT Wildlife Atlas Template [1.2 MB] for animals and plants and return it to Licensing and Compliance at the end of the project or when renewing the licence. This spreadsheet can also be found and uploaded directly to ACT Wildlife Atlas Data Entry Template - Overview.
