Quarantine

In addition to having controls on goods that can enter Australia form overseas, Australia also has rules and regulations about the movement of goods between or within states.

Travellers and producers can find useful information on the Australian Interstate Quarantine website or call the hotline on 1800 084 881.

Some states and territories require a plant health certificate for any seeds or plant materials to be issued from the original destination. To be able to issue a plant health certificate an inspection is required. Before inspection of plant material is arranged please ensure that you have met the requirements of the destination state by contacting the relevant state or territory quarantine regulator.

If you meet all of the state or territory requirements of the destination please contact Licencing and Compliance on 02 6207 6376 or by email to pcs.licensingandcompliance@act.gov.au to arrange an inspection. Please note that we do not provide or administer any treatments. After contacting Licencing and Compliance to arrange an inspection you may apply for a Plant Health Certificate for Interstate Movement of Plant Material.
