Pet shops selling non-exempt animals and importing

Pet shops in the ACT are required to have a licence to sell, import and keep non-exempt animals under the Nature Conservation Act 2014.

Certain animals such as ferrets, birds, axolotls and frogs can be sold to licenced people.

A licence is required for pet shops that import or export live fish under the Fisheries Act 2000.

How to apply

Fees apply under the Nature Conservation (Fees) Determination 2020 and the Fisheries (Fees) Determination 2019.
