Ready-Cut Cottage is an early 'ready-cut' or prefabricated kit home situated in the Gudgenby Valley, on the southern bank of the Gudgenby River in Namadgi National Park. This historic home is a cosy base from which to explore the majestic mountains and rivers of Namadgi. Get to know the locals while you’re there—the kangaroos, birds and lizards call this part of the world home too.
With simple facilities, it’s the views that will capture your imagination.
All of the three bedrooms have wardrobes and sideboards, each with lamps. The humble bathroom has a shower and tub, and the kitchen is so kitsch it’s cute.
Guests are required to bring their own firewood. Wood and kindling cannot be collected from within the National Park or reserve. Tidbinbilla Visitor Centre sells bags of wood.
The place you'll find yourself drawn to is the balcony, where you can sit for hours and look out over the mountains surrounding the cottage.
