Enjoying the experiences Canberra's nature reserves have to offer is easier than ever through Parks VR virtual reality videos.
A series of virtual reality videos offering opportunities is now available to enjoy at home, including:
- an up-close encounter with koalas and kangaroos
- a ranger guided kayak through the Murrumbidgee River
- a mountain bike adventure through Bruce Ridge
- a hike through the Cascade Trail to a waterfall
- scenic Booroomba Rocks.
Anyone can access the videos through their own virtual reality headsets or via the YouTube app on mobile devices. Simply access through the Parks VR YouTube page or by searching Parks VR on YouTube.
The Parks VR project is designed to provide nature-based experiences to everyone, including those who are unable to explore our parks and reserves in person. The ACT Parks and Conservation Service works with a range of community groups to provide unprecedented opportunities for those who experience disability or limited mobility to 'bring nature to virtually everyone'.
