Have your say on air quality standards

Have your say on proposed national ambient air quality standards, particularly ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide.

The National Environment Protection Council (NEPC) is proposing changes to national ambient air quality (AAQ NEPM) standards.

The AAQ NEPM provides a nationally consistent framework for jurisdictions to monitor and report ambient air quality and sets reporting standards for key air pollutants.

The impact statement from the NEPC recommends changes to the AAQ NEPM standards to reflect the latest science on the health risks from ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulphur dioxide (SO2).

Submissions will be used to inform the NEPC’s final decision to vary the AAQ NEPM.

For more information or to make a submission visit the NEPC website.

Submissions close on Wednesday, 7 August 2019.
