Parks and reserve closures in the ACT

Park and reserve closures are in place following bushfire and flood events over the Summer period and due to COVID-19.

Tidbinbilla closures

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is closed.

The Visitor Information Centre is also closed until further notice to help slow to spread of COVID-19.

Namadgi Closures

Namadgi National Park and Bimberi Wilderness area remain closed for public safety reasons. Fire and storm activity has caused significant damage to these areas.

ACT Parks and Conservation Service are working to remove dangerous trees and fix key infrastructure over the coming months to enable these areas to be reopened. We will endeavour to keep the community updated on our efforts to reopen these areas.

Namadgi Visitor Information Centre is also closed until further notice.

Googong Foreshore

Due to current wet weather conditions The Southern end of Googong Foreshore is closed until further notice.

The boatramp at Drumstick Point is open. Boaters are reminded to avoid contact with the water at all times and maintain social distancing and group size while within the reserve.

Molonglo Gorge Nature Reserve

The recreation area at the entrance to Molonglo Gorge Nature Reserve is currently closed. This closure is to allow for the assessment of dangerous trees.
Molonglo Gorge walking trail remains open to the community. Parking for walkers is near at Kowen Road gate entrance.
