Parks and reserve closures in the ACT

Parks and reserve closures in the ACT

Updated: 26 May 2020

Park and reserve closures are in place following bushfire and flood events over the Summer period and due to COVID-19.

Namadgi closures

Namadgi National Park and Bimberi Wilderness area remain closed for public safety reasons. Fire and storm activity has caused significant damage to these areas.

ACT Parks and Conservation Service are working to remove dangerous trees and fix key infrastructure over the coming months to enable these areas to be reopened. We will endeavour to keep the community updated on our efforts to reopen these areas.

Namadgi Visitor Information Centre is also closed until further notice.

Visitors can still access Corin Mountain Resort on Corin Dam Road. Corin Dam Road will remain closed to public access at Corin Hub.

For more information on road closures in and around Namadgi National Park, visit the Transport Canberra and City Services website.

Googong Foreshore

From 21 May 2020 Googong Foreshores South will be closed while major roadworks are undertaken on London Bridge Road.

This closure includes Googong Foreshores South recreation areas, car parks, and walks.

The roadworks are expected to take two weeks (weather permitting).

Open parks and reserves

All other ACT parks and reserves remain open. To find a park or reserve near you, visit Find a Park.
