Government progresses Social Cost of Carbon

As part of the 2021-22 budget process, the ACT Government announced a new initiative on the Social Cost of Carbon, or SCC. The SCC is a measure of the damage caused by carbon emissions.

The ACT Government has sought advice to describe the theory and practice of the use of a social cost of carbon in government decision making around the word. Two reports, from the ACT Climate Change Council, and Rovingstone Advisory, are now available online:
