To support the community’s transition to EVs, the ACT Government is currently funding the rollout of public EV chargers through two mechanisms:
grant funding for EV charge point operators to support the establishment of a sustainable EV charging industry and install EV chargers at locations where the community needs them most.
rebates for local clubs to install EV chargers and other sustainability upgrades on their premises, through the Community Clubs Program.
Public EV chargers funded by ACT Government
As of February 2024, 33 public EV chargers with 53 charging bays have received ACT Government funding. Find out below which public chargers in your area are government funded.
*Charging bays refers to the maximum number of vehicles that can be charged at one time. For example, one charger with two charging bays means that there are two parking spots available for two EVs to charge at the one time.
In 2022 the ACT Government committed just over $1.3 million in grants to kickstart the rollout of public chargers in the ACT. The successful applicants were:

The chargers funded in 2022 are still being rolled out. The remaining chargers are expected to be made operational in the first half of 2024.
