ACT Natural Resource Management (ACT NRM) administered the ACT Rural Grants program which supported ACT rural landholders to implement projects on their farms designed to achieve sustainable agriculture outcomes on-the-ground. Funded through the National Landcare Program (ACT Regional Delivery), rural grants were provided through three competitive funding rounds and provided:
- NRM advice to assist landholders (individuals or groups) in taking the leap from learning to doing. Landholders could apply to engage a specialist, such as an agronomist, to do a farm visit and develop action plans to improve sustainable practices on their farms. Examples included farm planning to improve grazing management and drought preparedness, and farm biosecurity plans. This was also supported by Greening Australia.
- On-ground works to increase the adoption of sustainable farming activities. Up to $10,000 was available to individual landholders and up to $50,000 for groups of landholders.

ACT Rural Grants program funding has been fully allocated and there will be no further competitive rounds offered under this program.
The ACT Government has introduced a Farmers Support Package for eligible rural landholders to undertake drought resilience activities. Applications may be from individuals or groups of landholders.
