Ginninderra Catchment Group

The Ginninderra Catchment Group works in the urban areas of Belconnen, Hall & Gunghalin. The group also works in the rural areas & nature reserves of the Ginninderra Creek catchment Priorities include:

  • Protecting bush at the edges of urban areas
  • Native grasslands
  • Improving storm water quality
  • Environmental restoration of degraded areas

Molonglo Catchment Group

The Molonglo Catchment Group covers the Molonglo & Queanbeyan Rivers, Jerrabomberra Creek and their catchments. It also works in the urban areas of inner Canberra and Queanbeyan. Priorities include:

  • River Restoration
  • Community education
  • Mapping the lower Molonglo

Southern ACT Catchment Group

The Southern ACT Catchment Group covers Woden, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Tharwa, Tidbinbilla & Namadgi National Park and rural leases. The group are currently addressing:

  • Biodiversity protection
  • Riparian plantings
  • Weed management
  • European & indigenous cultural heritage
  • Reducing urban land degradation

Greening Australia
Greening Australia ACT is an organisation committed to doing something practical about environmental problems in the ACT region. Greening Australia work to:
  • Achieve on-ground conservation of rural land
  • Improve environmental outcomes for agricultural & horticultural enterprises
  • Improve river habitat
  • Grow a wide range of native plants for revegetation

ParkCare

The ParkCare program involves organised groups of community volunteers that concentrate their activities in local nature reserves. A wide range of activities are available, such as:

  • growing and planting seedlings for bush regeneration
  • restoring and maintaining early European settlement heritage sites
  • raising public awareness
  • fostering partnerships with local schools.
